Leading transformer skills helped increase UHVDC transmission capacity to 10,000 megawatts, creating a new record for power transmission capacity at the 800 kV voltage level.
ABB recently won an order to supply converter transformers to two + 800 KV 10,000 MW UHV long-distance DC lines in China. The two lines set a new record for transmission capacity on the 800-kilovolt voltage scale.
The two UHVDC lines that ABB will participate in are the 1,609-km Xilmeng Taizhou ±800 KV UHVDC line and the 1,231 km Shanghai Miao-Shandong ±800 KV UHVDC line, both of which will pass through a narrow transmission corridor. New leading-edge technologies such as 509 MVA converter transformers have helped the two UHVDC lines increase power transmission capacity to unprecedented levels.
The two UHVDC lines are part of the country's "Inner Mongolia Power Transmission" project, which aims to transport electricity produced locally in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to power-hungry provinces, instead of long-distance coal transportation to generate electricity. Once completed, the project is expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 350 million tons a year, reduce soot emissions by 140,000 tons, and reduce sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.
"The two can transmit 10000 megawatts of + 800000 volts high-voltage dc lines is ABB's strategy of" new stage "best practice, we committed to using innovative solutions support a large-scale power transmission, new grid and efficient" department, qin fang ABB power grid show that "ABB uhv dc skills for many countries including our country to low power loss, long distance transmission keep adding, no dedicated grid reliability."
The nation's premier power load bases are located in the east, while power capital is located in the west and northwest. The country's vast territory and growing demand for electricity in the past decade have prompted the country to add transmission capacity to its ultra-high voltage lines to transmit power from new, efficient coal-fired power plants near where the power is produced, reducing pollution near cities.
Large-scale transmission of power at higher voltage levels can significantly improve transmission power. UHVDC skills are a further development of HVDC skills. ABB first applied HVDC skills more than 60 years ago and has been representing the highest level of power capacity and transmission power in the HVDC category for more than 20 years.
ABB is a global leader in power and automation skills, helping power, industry, transportation and infrastructure customers improve their performance and reduce their environmental impact together. ABB Group operates in nearly 100 countries and employs 135,000 people. ABB has a full range of activities in China, including research, production, sales and engineering services, with 18,000 employees, 40 local companies and a sales and service network in 147 cities across the country.
