In order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of submarine cables and improve the reliability of island power supply, State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd. has strengthened the linkage with relevant government departments, strengthened technical prevention measures, and built a three-dimensional protection mechanism for submarine cables to jointly maintain the safety of submarine cables. In 2014, under the coordination and promotion of Fujian electric power law enforcement office, Fujian MSA issued navigation notices and issued notices in the media, reminding ships not to conduct operations or activities endangering the safety of submarine cables, such as anchoring and sand mining, in the relevant sea areas where 47 submarine cables have been laid. Last year, Fujian Provincial Department of industry and information technology issued a normative document on the delimitation of power facilities protection areas. Provinces, cities and counties carried out the work of announcement and marking of power facilities protection areas at different levels, delimited protection areas for power facilities including submarine cables and announced them to the public.
