Development Trend analysis of Transformer manufacturing industry in China

With the rapid development of China's economy and the increasing demand for electric power, transformers, as the main equipment in the power transmission and transformation system, have also made considerable progress. In order to adapt to and meet the market demand, many transformer manufacturers introduce advanced production technology and equipment from abroad and strengthen the exploration of new processes and materials in order to constantly improve product structure and improve product performance. The development trend is as follows:

(1) Develop towards large capacity, high voltage and high reliability

At present, transformer products are divided into high-end transformers, 220-500kV transformers, 110-200kV transformers and transformers less than 110kV according to the voltage level. The higher the voltage class of transmission and transformation lines is, the greater the transmission and transformation capacity will be. Therefore, the overall development direction of the transformer is that the voltage class will develop towards 750kV and 1000kV, which is mainly used in long-distance transmission and transformation lines. The capacity is developed from 120MVA-840MVA for three-phase, even 900MVA for single-phase, 250MVa-400MVA and even 533MVA. As these transformers are generally used in large power plants or power transmission, their reliability is crucial.

2. Developing towards environmental protection

With the continuous improvement of national environmental protection laws and regulations and the enhancement of public awareness of environmental protection, the construction of substation, especially the construction of urban substation, is more and more restricted by environmental protection. Among them, energy consumption, noise and electromagnetic field generated by transformer and reactor in operation are environmental impact factors that should be considered in substation design, distribution network layout or environmental protection evaluation. For this reason, transformers are required to be environmentally friendly first, mainly reflected in energy saving, low noise, non-permeable and degradable recycling.

(3) Develop towards miniaturization and portability

The current power supply products are generally characterized by "light, thin, short and small" towards miniaturization and portability. For example, electronic transformers must be adapted to the volume and weight requirements of the user's power products. Meanwhile, the price of raw materials for electronic transformers (iron cores and conductive materials) has risen. Therefore, how to reduce the volume and weight, how to reduce the cost, become the future electronic transformer development of the main direction.

Energy-saving, miniaturization, low noise, high impedance, explosion-proof development of these products are mainly mainly small and medium-sized, such as the new S9 distribution transformer recommended in the urban network and agricultural network transformation, as well as coil core, amorphous alloy, full seal, combination, dry type, high ignition point oil, SF6 gas insulation and other transformers.

(4) The transformer used in urban network develops towards high impedance

Urban transformers should have the characteristics of high reliability, energy saving, environmental protection, low noise and miniaturization. The transformer substation in the city is sometimes personalized design, which affects the transformer structure and shape, and even the cooling mode and type.
