
On April 3, the staff of 500 kV Zhengzhou Guandu substation used the 5g communication test base station here to realize remote HD video interaction with State Grid Henan electric power company. This marks that the first dedicated 5g base station of Henan Province has been put into operation.
The 5g base station of Guandu substation is the first 5g communication base station applied in 500kV and above substation in China. It verifies the large broadband service characteristics and high reliability of 5g wireless network in high electromagnetic complex environment. The measured communication rate of single user on site is more than 400MB / s, which can effectively meet the needs of substation operation and maintenance business in the future.
Substation belongs to the key place with dense equipment, high magnetic field and high safety production requirements in the power grid system, which has high requirements for the reliability and anti-interference of the network. At present, the communication load in the station is mainly realized by wired mode. 5g communication technology has the advantages of high bandwidth, low delay and wide connection, which can provide strong support for wireless private network.
At the beginning of this year, Henan electric power of State Grid and Henan Branch of China Mobile Group jointly carried out the 5g special research work of ubiquitous power Internet of things, taking the integration of 5g technology and power industry business as the research focus, and in accordance with the principle of "safety first, step-by-step verification, and steady progress", 5g communication test base station was built in Guandu substation for the first time.
The further deployment and application of 5g network will provide support for substation equipment operation status monitoring, substation robot inspection, remote mobile video monitoring and other new operation and maintenance services, greatly reduce the safety production risk of manual operation, and promote the substation monitoring, operation, security and other business to intelligent, visual and high-definition. At the same time, part of the optical fiber and cable in the substation will be replaced, which will greatly reduce the scale of cable network construction in the station.
In the next step, State Grid Henan electric power will continue to expand and deepen the feasibility study of 5g technology in the power industry from the aspects of power information collection, UAV line inspection and dispatching visualization, and continuously explore and promote the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of things.
